What the extension does

The Backloggd Compatibility Score extension displays a game taste compatibility score on Backloggd user profile pages. It reads your Backloggd username from the page and compares your game ratings with the profile you're viewing.

What data is accessed

The extension reads two pieces of information from the Backloggd page:

• Your logged-in Backloggd username (from the navigation bar on the page)
• The username of the profile you're viewing (from the page URL)

These two usernames are sent to the whats.gd API to compute a compatibility score. The API fetches publicly available game rating data from Backloggd to calculate the score.

What data is collected and stored

Nothing. The extension does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. No analytics, no tracking, no cookies, no accounts. The usernames are only used transiently to make the API request and are not logged or stored by the API server.

Third-party services

The extension makes requests to the whats.gd API, which is hosted on Vercel. Vercel's standard edge caching may temporarily cache API responses (up to 1 hour) to improve performance. No personal data is included in cached responses beyond the publicly visible Backloggd usernames in the URL.
